My Students' Writings

As a teacher, I am always pleased to read my students' writings because they reflect my skills in teaching and facilitating the materials for them. Here I would like to share some of my students' writing with other teachers. It is also one of the motivating plans I use to encourage my students to write more and more. My students and I would appreciate your comments.

# Hanadi Abi Ali is one of my smart students in grade seven. Here she would like to share with you a short interesting story that she wrote of her own accord. Here goes:
" A flower is an innocent creature that is colorful and full of life. But when a flower is ripped from its roots, it changes; it becomes sad and depressed and it loses life just like Anna. Anna is a very beautiful flower that was ripped from the ground in her village that was a part of her; it was placed in a big empty vase called the city. Anna was a young woman who has come to the city looking for a job. Her life was ahead of her and she had no other choice but to adjust to her new routine. No body in the city knew her and she didn’t know anybody. Although the huge tall buildings were indescribable, they were nothing compared to the old roof houses that fill the spaces of a place called home. Everyday for her in the city seemed like a beginning because she learned many stuff; one of them was that she wasn’t the only person new to the city life. Soon, a jasmine and a rose hopped into the vase and started talking about the old life they had left behind, but they knew one thing for sure; they can never look back and they should invest their differences to do something good for themselves and their community. You can tell that a good worker like Anna made her village proud. She had the country-girl vibe that no one in the city had and that made her different. Sometimes our differences are the key to our success, but we don’t often know it until we go deeper, beyond the vulnerable part of our personalities. Even a young woman like Anna can make a difference. "

helpful tips for teachers

# When there's trust between the teacher and the students, it's easier then for them to do what he/she asks them to. One way to build this trust is to always do whatever you promise them to: give rewards, stickers, extra grades, etc....

# To help your students like the subject matter you teach and to like your peroids, you should like them first and show your attitude very often. When you complain a lot about your work in front of your students, then they will probably figure out that you don't like teaching or you don't like the subject you're teaching. Students are so smart that they can find out how you feel through your words, actions, gestures...
